The tree is a Christmas tree that stays — after the holidays it simply continues to grow outside and you can bring it back inside year after year. This specimen is delivered in a pot of Ø23 cm with a height of approximately 80 cm.

Flowering period: Not applicable (evergreen conifer)

Ideal location: Cool & bright (indoors), sun-partial shade (outdoors)

Height: Very slow grower; after 10 years approximately 2–3 m

Mature after: several years (very slow grower)

Winter hardy: Yes

Best planting time: Oct–Dec (as a Christmas tree) or Mar–May / Sep–Oct (planting out)

Gradually acclimate the tree to the outdoors after the holidays (not directly from warmth to freezing cold) for the best chance of survival.

Thanks to its very slow growth, this compact fir remains suitable for a pot on the balcony for years without quickly outgrowing it. The tree likes a sunny to partially shaded spot, which is readily available on most balconies. Because it is evergreen and hardy in winter, you can simply leave it outside after the holidays and bring it back inside every year as a living Christmas tree.

Does this Christmas tree come back every year?

Yes, this is a living, hardy tree. After the holidays, it continues to grow outside and you can use it as a Christmas tree again next year.

Is a cone spruce suitable for a balcony in a pot?

Yes, this compact conifer grows excellently in a pot in a sunny to partially shaded spot on a balcony or terrace.

Can I simply plant this tree outside after Christmas?

Yes, this spruce is fully hardy and can remain in a pot on a balcony or terrace after the holidays, or be planted in the garden.
